Recruitment

Advisory Teacher training
The Voices Foundation looks to recruit additional Advisory Teachers to join its team of specialists on an annual basis.   Through funding from The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, we have been slowly developing our team, enabling the organisation to grow and for us to reach more schools and more children.

The post
The role of an Advisory Teacher is part-time and there is no guarantee of work after training is completed.   Finding schools and funding the programme can take time and this is undertaken jointly by the office, its teams of RDATs, SATs and all ATs.  Each Voices school has one AT deployed to deliver the In-School Programme. The number of days involved depends on the number of classes in a school.   There is a clear management structure with senior staff and the office providing full support and guidance for all ATs at all times.

Who is eligible?
All applicants must be fully qualified teachers who have at least 3 years' current full time primary classroom teaching experience.
(It is vital that all our ATs are fully conversant with the National Curriculum and primary school issues and must have a UK recognised teaching qualification.  Current classroom teaching experience is essential due to the supporting and mentoring aspect of the AT role.)

All applicants must have a music degree or diploma.

All applicants must have a commitment to helping improve the quality of music education and a full understanding and commitment to the aims of The Voices Foundation, click here to learn more.

We are particularly keen to hear from people in the South West and North West of England. We are an Equal Opportunities employer and encourage applications from a broad spectrum of society.

How to apply
Please email us your CV and a covering letter giving your reasons why you wish to apply for the training, highlighting relevant experience. Alternatively send us your application by post.

What happens next
Your application is considered by the Director of Curriculum and Training and if deemed suitable,  applicants go through to the next round, where they are observed teaching a music class in a school known to them and interviewed by the Director of Curriculum and Training.   If the quality of classroom teaching is acceptable, then candidates are accepted for training.
