5-Day Courses

Our main course, the 5-Day Methodology Course, is run on 5 separate days throughout the academic year, allowing delegates to practise what they have learnt and to return with questions and comments for our course leader. The main objectives of this course are:
  • To help teachers develop the personal music skills, training and materials needed for The Voices Foundation Aural/Vocal Approach in the primary school curriculum
  • To enable course members, as appropriate, to initiate and lead curriculum development for non-trained teaching colleagues in their own school.
  • To explore curriculum leadership and the role of the Music Coordinator.

The 5-Day Methodology Course is for teachers with an interest in primary music, instrument teachers and music support teachers. People who have completed the course will be supported by our range of materials, and will have access to further training. They are also eligible to receive a third of the credits required for Edge Hill University's Postgraduate Certificate in Music Education - full details about this accreditation can be downloaded here.

Our 5-day courses are run mainly in partnership with LAs but in each academic year we run an ‘open to all’ course in London, near Euston. We also try to arrange a similar course in northern England if possible. Dates and venues for our courses are usually finalised in the Spring or early Summer, at which time full details are available to download below; if you would like to receive information on new courses by email as soon as they are confirmed, please complete our enquiry form and ask to be added to our course mailing list.

Please note: this course proves immensely popular with people based in South East England - and beyond! - and places are usually snapped up before the official application deadline, so we'd recommend that those keen to attend apply sooner rather than later
