5-Day Courses
Our main course entitled ‘The 5-Day Course’ is spread throughout the academic year, allowing delegates to practise what they have learnt and to return with questions and comments for our course leader. The main objectives of the 5-Day Course are:
- To help teachers develop the personal music skills, training and materials needed for The Voices Foundation Aural/Vocal Approach in the primary school curriculum
- To enable course members, as appropriate, to initiate and lead curriculum development for non-trained teaching colleagues in their own school.
- To explore curriculum leadership and the role of the Music Coordinator.
The 5-Day Course is for teachers with an interest in primary music, instrument teachers and music support teachers. People who have completed the course will be supported by our range of materials, and will have access to further training.
Our 5-Day Courses are run mainly in partnership with LAs but for the 2008-9 academic year we are running 2 ‘open’ courses - one in London, near Euston, and one in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council which is open to out-of-county delegates. Details for both courses are available below; please note, however, that applications for the North Yorkshire course can only be made online by visiting the website shown in the relevant leaflet.
