  • Charlotte Smith, Schools Development Manager

Charlotte trained as an actor at the Guildford School of Acting and performed in regional and touring theatre with companies such as the Guildford Shakespeare Company (GSC) and This is My Theatre. Theatre in education work with GSC inspired her to apply for the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, and she trained and worked as a Primary Teacher in a wonderful school in South Croydon.

Within this role, Charlotte championed music and developed the music curriculum, which resulted in various learning and performance opportunities for the children; from the year 3 cohort singing at the Teach First London Opening Ceremony in 2019, to an online school-wide Christmas Concert during the pandemic. Moving into the charity sector, Charlotte joined STAMMA and worked collaboratively on campaigns, as well as closely with networks and groups to develop supportive and exciting spaces for people who stammer to connect. Joining the Voices Foundation sees Charlotte returning to her loves of music and education, and she is delighted to be taking on the role of Schools Development Manager.
